Room Selection Process Update

November 24, 2021

Dear students,

We have heard from many of you about housing plans for fall 2022, and we understand the concerns that students and families have shared with us. We are working to address those concerns, and our goal is to understand how many of our continuing students are interested in living on campus next year so we can do everything we can to accommodate our students’ on-campus housing needs.

To help address the feedback we have received and plan for the next academic year, we are asking you to submit a request for on-campus housing for the 2022-2023 academic year, which begins in August 2022, if you wish to live on-campus.

This planning process is for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning in August 2022 and does not change any student’s housing for the spring semester beginning in January 2022.

How to submit a request for on-campus housing

You may register your housing request through the University Housing portal beginning at the date and time listed below. The deadline for continuing students to submit requests for on-campus housing for the 2022-2023 academic year is 9 a.m. Monday, December 6. Requests should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Staggered request start times in the University Housing portal help us optimize system performance and have no bearing on final housing decisions.

Status update

University Housing will evaluate the number of requests received for on-campus housing to determine demand, plan for next fall, and adjust the Room Selection process. If you submit a request for campus housing, you will receive a status update with additional instructions by Thursday, December 9. The status update will either notify you of your assigned time to select a room or confirm you have been placed on a waitlist.

We understand the frustration and concern caused by campus housing capacity, and we are working to address capacity issues to accommodate as many continuing students as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we address concerns to better support you.
