Residence Hall Tours

Contact the University Housing
Tour Center:

Your life as a Tennessee Volunteer starts on campus!

The University Housing Tour Center will be closed from March 16 – April 6. During this time, please visit UTKHousing on Facebook for virtual residence hall tours.

We are excited to show you the variety of living options available at the University of Tennessee, and we can’t wait to meet you!

We offer daily residence hall tours M-F at 1:30, 3:30, and 4:30PM.

Tours start from the lobby of the University Housing main office, located on the ground floor of Magnolia Hall. Tours are offered on a walk-in basis, so no appointment is necessary!

Small Groups & Families

Once you arrive at the University Housing office, our Vols @ Home team will be available to greet you and answer any questions prior to your tour departure.  Groups of 10 or fewer do not need to sign up for a tour in advance. The 1:30pm and 3:30pm tour will show at least one community style and suite style room.  Currently, we are showing rooms in Hess HallBrown Hall, Stokely Hall, and Orange Hall.

While you’re on campus, it is also a good idea to schedule a campus tour and meet
with your academic department.

Large Groups

Large groups (10+) should contact us to schedule a special tour.

Limited visitor parking for University Housing Residence Hall Tours is available in the Lot S25 parking lot, located on the west side of Magnolia Hall. These spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed for your tour. Campus visitors are required to obtain a parking permit from the Housing Office prior to parking in these spots.

Additional visitor parking is available in the Volunteer Hall public parking garage, located at 1545 White Avenue. From there, you may take T Bus to Magnolia Hall via The Hill route. The Hill route picks up outside of the Student Union on Volunteer Boulevard. You will need to get off at the “Aquatic Center” bus stop and cross the street to enter Magnolia Hall.

Availability may change without notice due to special events or conferences. Overnight parking is not allowed.

University Housing tours are walking-intensive, and we recommend wearing weather appropriate clothing and shoes to navigate campus comfortably.
