The ConnectED Living & Learning Community will provide incoming first-year students with the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with other students pursuing teacher licensure, as well as faculty and staff in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Most teacher licensure students are working towards majors outside of the college, and it is important to make these connections early to foster a sense of community among this unique group of students. ConnectED aims to facilitate the holistic development of participants to promote student success, to increase their awareness of opportunities and resources available within the college and on campus, to provide them with leadership and service-learning experiences, and to enhance their overall collegiate experience.

Community Requirements

ConnectED is open to incoming first-year students who are pursuing teacher licensure. ConnectED LLC students will be co-enrolled in a ConnectED-specific FYS 101 course and a CMST 210 course in the fall semester. In the spring semester, students will enroll in a college-specific section of FYS 129. All participants are required to register for these courses. Additionally, there will be community-specific events that participants are required to attend.
