Temporarily named Orange Hall at its opening, the building was renamed in the spring of 2021 to honor Rita Sanders Geier.

Geier Hall provides housing to 378 students and features pod style and apartment style living. Pods include several double-occupancy rooms and smaller shared bathrooms located throughout the hallway. Apartment style rooms feature four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen and living room.

Geier Hall is located adjacent to Robinson Hall, sharing a common courtyard to be used for collaborative programming between the buildings. Designed with the student in mind, Geier Hall features spacious multi-purpose and activity rooms, hang-out and study areas on each floor, and a traditions-based residence environment.

Rocky Top Dining is located closest to Geier Hall.  The facility features an all-you-care-to-eat restaurant featuring delicious made-to-order options. Students love the Chick-Fil-A, which is located on the first floor of the Rocky Top Dining. The Rocky Top Dining complex is located across from the aquatic center, Tom Black Track, tennis courts, and the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Building.
