LLC Peer Mentors
Peer Mentors are upper-division students who assist incoming students’ transition into academic and student life at the University of Tennessee. University Housing, in conjunction with our academic and student-serving partners, support live-in Peer Mentors for our Living & Learning Communities. Peer Mentors should be relatable to the mission of the LLC for which they will serve.
Peer Mentors who are part of the LLC Peer Mentor Partnership Program will receive a $1,000 scholarship for service during the course of the academic year, payable in two equal $500 allocations. Peer Mentors who only serve a semester, only receive the scholarship for that semester. Scholarships are allocated and reported to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships to be applied to the student’s overall award. A limited number of scholarships will be available, the number of which is contingent upon the availability of funds and allotted scholarships for a given year as determined by the Department of University Housing.
Students affiliated with the mission of the respective LLC may have the opportunity to apply to become an LLC Peer Mentor for those LLCs offering to support Peer Mentors. Only select communities will be accepting Peer Mentor applications. Those communities include the Design LLC. University Housing staff and Program Liaisons will meet to select Peer Mentors based upon the applications received. Peer
Mentors must reside in the LLC residence hall floor/hall where in which the LLC is located. Decisions will be announced via email to those selected.
