Volunteer Bridge

I am in this LLC because while taking classes on one campus and engaging in student life here at the University of Tennessee, being part of that community helps bridge the gap between the two campuses.

Brandon, Volunteer Bridge LLC resident

University Housing is excited to welcome you to the Volunteer Bridge program!  Living on campus in the Volunteer Bridge Living & Learning Community (Volunteer Bridge LLC) is an important component of your campus experience, and we are happy you are joining the Volunteer Bridge family!

All Volunteer Bridge Students have the opportunity to live on campus in the Volunteer Bridge Living & Learning Community.  However, space in the LLC is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to students living out of commuter range.

Volunteer Bridge students accepted into the Volunteer Bridge Living & Learning Community will have an opportunity to select their room on campus within the LLC during the room selection process in May.

Please review our step-by-step instructions below to participate in the 2018-2019 Room Selection for Volunteer Bridge students:

Shortly after confirming your Volunteer Bridge participation, University Housing will send an email notification indicating that your housing and LLC application has been activated. Please follow the instructions below to complete your application:

  1. Log in to My UT Housing using your NetID and password.
  2. If you have forgotten your password, click here and follow the instructions provided. Once you re-set your password, return to step one.
  3. Select the Volunteer Bridge Housing and LLC Application link on your home screen.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm student information, and to select and confirm roommate and suitemate request(s).
  5. If you are accepted into the Volunteer Bridge LLC, you will enter into a legally binding contract for University Housing for the Fall 2018-Spring 2019 academic year. Click the “I Agree” button to accept the University Housing Terms & Conditions of the housing contract.
  6. Once you submit the housing contract, you will be ready to participate in the Room Selection process. If you are accepted into the Volunteer Bridge LLC, University Housing will contact you in May with instructions to participate.

Once you have completed your housing contract and have been accepted into the Volunteer Bridge LLC, you will receive an email with instructions to select your room in May.  Students who do not select a room will be automatically assigned by University Housing.

Room Selection will be open 24 hours per day for each window, and University Housing staff is available from 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday to assist students with questions.

Please follow the instructions below to select your room:

  1. Log in to My UT Housing using your NetID and password.

  4. Review your roommate choices and select roommate and suitemate request(s).
  5. Select an available room. Available rooms are determined by certain criteria, including the number of requested roommates, gender, and spaces held for various university academic programs.

Volunteer Bridge students may request roommates that are also participating in the Volunteer Bridge program. University Housing is excited to invite our residents to find their roommate and meet other Volunteer Bridge residents through the RoomSync app on Facebook!

CLICK HERE to access your RoomSync account.

NOTE: Once you have matched with your roommate on RoomSync, you will need to make your request official by requesting your roommate through My UT Housing.  Volunteer Bridge students may only live with other Volunteer Bridge students in the Volunteer Bridge Living & Learning Community.

Volunteer Bridge students commuting from the primary residence of a parent or legal guardian may apply for an exemption from the residency requirement. Please note: If you complete the contract, you cannot cancel it to become a commuting student.

Exemption from the residency requirement may be granted to students who meet certain criteria.
