Orange Hall Construction Update

Orange 1Due to construction delays, Orange Hall will experience a postponed Fall 2016 opening. We have been advised by the project contractor that while every attempt was made to open Orange Hall on time for the fall semester, construction crews experienced unanticipated complications.  This has resulted in a construction timeline that was longer than expected.

Orange Hall is anticipated to open on September 28 at 6pm, and Orange Hall residents must check out of their temporary Humes Hall assignment by October 2 at 5pm.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you in advance for the patience and understanding of our Orange Hall residents.  Please take a few moments to review our FAQ section, and please contact our office with further questions.

No.  All residents are encouraged to download the New Vols guide for up to date information regarding move-in day, or visit our website additional information.

Orange Hall is anticipated to open on September 28th at 6pm. Residents of Orange Hall will have until 5pm on October 2 to check out of their temporary Humes Hall assignment.

Unfortunately, we do not have personnel to assist students with moving services.  We encourage students to limit the amount of belongings brought to campus until the move to Orange Hall is complete.  Dollys will be available for checkout at the front desks of Humes and Orange Halls.

We expect that there will be some students that will have academic scheduling conflicts when Orange Hall opens.  Our staff will work with students experiencing a conflict to provide alternative move-in times.

We will make every effort to keep roommates together as we assign temporary spaces in Humes.  In addition, we are working to keep the Engage/RISER LLC together as well place RAs close to their residents.

We are currently expecting to place students that are assigned apartment spaces in single bedrooms in Humes Hall, sharing a suite with one additional student from their apartment assignment.  We will make every effort to keep all four residents assigned in close proximity to one another.

Unfortunately, we do not offer storage solutions to students.  We encourage students to limit the amount of belongings brought to campus until the move to Orange Hall is complete.

Orange Hall residents will be billed the Humes Hall semester room rate (which is lower than the Orange Hall rate) for the entire fall semester, regardless of the final date that residents are relocated to Orange Hall.  Residents will be billed the Orange Hall semester room rate beginning spring 2017.  Please click here for more information on 2016-2017 rates.

We expect Orange Hall to open shortly after the start of the fall semester.  However, the construction deadline has yet to be determined, and we will update our residents as information is made available.  Please be assured that Humes Hall is a temporary arrangement and University Housing is looking forward to the opening of Orange Hall.

University Housing has been assured by construction project managers that White Hall will open on time for Fall 2016 move-in.  Stokely Hall, opening in spring 2017 is progressing and is scheduled to open on time for Reese move-in in January.
